Dr. Faria Sultana holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, which was conferred upon her by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in October 2018. Her doctoral research focused on health economics, specifically conducting a health economic analysis on cost-effective options for the diabetic population in developing countries.

In addition to her PhD, Dr. Sultana completed a master's degree in political economy at Xiamen University, China, and a bachelor's degree in economics at North South University, Bangladesh. Her master's thesis explored the migration and poverty scenario in Asia, encompassing both internal and international migration. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted research on the topic of social safety nets in Bangladesh.

She currently serves as the Head of the Department of Economics and an Assistant Professor at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), where she has been a full-time faculty member since August 2019. In this role, she contributes her academic expertise and leadership to enhance the department’s teaching and research initiatives.
Prior to joining AIUB, Faria pursued her doctoral studies as a Ph.D. Scholar at Universiti Sains Malaysia from March 2015 to March 2018. During this time, she conducted extensive research in her field, deepening her scholarly knowledge and contributing to academic discourse.
Faria's research experience also extends to her time as a Former Researcher at the Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI). From October 2010 to January 2015, she actively participated in research activities and contributed her insights to the institute's projects.
